## Overview

Gritt Brand Book. Version 1.0, August 2026.

A construction super-intelligence that does physical work.

This file is generated from `brand.md`, the full brand book, which carries the reasoning, the
logo artwork rules and the asset pack. Read that first if you are a person. This one exists so
an agent can apply the brand without a designer in the loop.

## Colors

- **grittYellow** `#FCE132` — The accent. Call-to-action buttons with black text, iconography, selected states. Emphasis and visibility, not decoration.
- **grittBlack** `#1D1D18` — Structure. Type, buttons with white text, and any surface that needs to hold the layout down. A warm near-black, not pure black.
- **grittIvory** `#F9F5EE` — Warmth and balance. Backgrounds and block elements, so the interface reads as inviting rather than clinical.
- **white** `#FFFFFF` — The default page ground, and type on Gritt Black.
- **foundationGrey700** `#ADAA9F`
- **foundationGrey400** `#E8E5DD`

Foreground pairings:

- Primary button: Gritt Black type on Gritt Yellow
- Secondary button: White type on Gritt Black
- On Gritt Ivory: Gritt Black
- On Gritt Black: White

## Typography

- **Poppins** (Display and editorial), Google Fonts. Geometric, even and open. Regular carries display and headings; the geometry keeps large sizes calm rather than shouty, which matters in a category that shouts.
- **Poppins** (Functional and UI), Google Fonts. The same family at Light and Regular. One family across the whole system, so there is no pairing decision to make on a new surface.

Scale:

- Display: Poppins 128px, weight 400
- Page title: Poppins 96px, weight 400
- Section title: Poppins 64px, weight 400
- Heading: Poppins 48px, weight 400
- Subheading: Poppins 32px, weight 400
- Body large: Poppins 24px, weight 300
- Body: Poppins 16px, weight 300
- Caption: Poppins 14px, weight 400
- Metadata: Poppins 12px, weight 400

## Do's and Don'ts

- Do: Use the supplied vector files, always
- Do: Keep the full clear space on every side
- Do: Use Gritt Black on yellow, where contrast is strongest
- Do: Reverse to white only on Gritt Black
- Don't: Redraw or reset the wordmark in Poppins by hand
- Don't: Put white type on Gritt Yellow
- Don't: Add a shadow, outline or container the brief does not call for
- Don't: Place it over a busy site photograph
- Never put white type on Gritt Yellow. The contrast fails and it is the most common misuse.
- Never use pure #000000. Gritt Black is warm and the difference is visible next to the ivory.
- Never let yellow become a background for large areas. It is an accent, and it stops signalling the moment it is everywhere.
- Never introduce a third brand colour for a one-off campaign.
